CBT therapist working with health anxiety, checking and reassurance-seeking loops.
What we checked
I work mostly with health anxiety, which is one of the loneliest things to carry because the reassurance you get never lasts and asking for it again feels embarrassing.
The pattern is usually familiar by the time someone contacts me. A sensation, a search, a temporary relief, then the same sensation again by evening. You already know the searching makes it worse. Knowing that has not stopped it, which is not a failure of willpower.
My main training is in CBT, so the work is structured and there will be things to try between sessions. I also use acceptance and commitment approaches, which are often more useful once someone has already tried to argue their way out of the thoughts and found it turned into another loop.
I work in person in Birmingham and online. I speak Tamil and Hindi, and I hold a small number of lower-cost places for people who could not otherwise come.
Last checked 21 August 2026. We re-check every twelve months, and the badge comes off the day a registration or an insurance policy lapses. You can check the BACP register yourself. How we verify
The shaded area is the B15 district, not an address. Exact details come from the therapist when you arrange a session.
Contacting two or three people is normal, and nobody minds.
